about

Released in 2006, Small Town Burning was Mat D and the Profane Saints' debut self produced album. Only 250 copies were pressed and it went out of print shortly after it's release in mid 2007. The band rarely plays material from this period live with the exception of Swivel Town and Bikini Bull Riding. Many of the songs were either scrapped, re-arranged and re-recorded in some way form or fashion. Carolina Home Wrecker's Blues evolved into Carolina on 2009's Dirt Town City Limits and alternate versions of Sweet Louise and Bikini Bull Riding were released on Mat's 2007 acoustic debut Gasoline Rattle. The album continues to gain popularity among listeners showcasing the group's early country, blues and developing roots rock sound. Fan favorites include Rambling Mary Jane Walker and Drinking Gin and Sipping Tea. UPDATE: This album has been re-issued on CD for the first time since 2007!!! Available now through bandcamp.com!
